When we designed the Opinión Sur Joven project, we thought about generating a digital magazine for young readers who care about their future and the world we’re living in. So in each issue we include four or five articles referred to each one of our areas of interest: work and entrepreneurship, personal development, politics and society, environment and urban culture. Luckily, more readers and subscribers become interested in what we do every month.
But, notwithstanding that first project, we believed and still believe that a social program can’t be just virtual. That’s why we think it is important that young volunteers be the ones in charge of improving the magazine. From March 2006 -when we started- until today, more than fifty volunteers have collaborated with Opinión Sur Joven including writers, illustrators, promoters and other roles that have made this publication possible.
The aim is to turn this space into a non-partisan activism, where each collaborator may help others by offering his or her knowledge in each topic. Psychologists, lawyers, accountants, journalists, political scientists, sociologists and priests aged less than thirty have contributed with their knowledge and their opinions on different matters.
Not only do we believe this space is interesting to convey messages, but we’re also interested in giving something in exchange, and that our contributing writers be enriched from different places. So, as a compensation for all those contributors, Opinión Sur Joven offers them training on article writing. How can we deliver our message to an audience that perhaps doesn’t care too much about our topics? It’s a great challenge for any young professional.
We wanted to use this editorial space to invite you to join us and participate. All you have to do is send us an e-mail to opinionsurjoven@opinionsur.org.ar, and we’ll try to find a topic for you to write or illustrate about, or any subject you believe you can help us with.
Opinión Sur Joven isn’t just a digital magazine. It’s a space for participation as well. Do you want to be a part of it?
