Forests benefiting people and nature
World Forest, Society and Environment (WFSE) is a special project of the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations (IUFRO), an international collaboration network of scientists and experts that is led by ten international forest research organizations. This is a global, open and non-profit initiative. On the basis of existing scientific knowledge it produces innovative solutions to support the design and implementation of forest policies promoting sustainable development and social well-being.
Forest surveillance on a world level helps to mitigate climate change
A forest surveillance system through high definition, free, via satellite images that are ready to be used and have world coverage, is available for the first time due to an initiative launched by FAO and other associates as part of the World Forest Resources Test.
Air as fuel
This is an example of the convergence of technology, ecology, and economics. The fuel is compressed air, which is loaded into ultra lightweight tanks with normal compressors. The compressed-air motor reduces to zero vehicle emissions into simply hot air, which in turn can be recycled to heat the vehicle. Moreover, it will be noiseless and will save non-renewable resources such as petroleum. In the event of crashes or other accidents, the tanks will not explode but rather will simply break up emitting a thunderous roar, though this may also be solved with new materials technologies.
