In this issue we address three important contemporary topics: (i) the consequences of the current global unbridled excess and the options we face when searching for exits from the global crisis; (ii) the guidelines which, using utopia as a navigation star, would characterize a bold and effective way out of the crisis and (iii) the feasibility of practising responsible journalism in a context of virulent confrontations.
Regarding the third subject, there is a lot to learn with respect to motivations, ways of functioning, how information can be manipulated by playing with the headlines, front pages and subtitles in order to influence the receivers of the information or disinformation; how the media, both public and private, and the journalists partition and hierarchize reality; which processes and situations they choose to cover and which they ignore or disguise. Opinión Sur offers you to list analyses and research studies concerning the media that you may deem valuable and wish to make public.
We wish a good spring for our readers of the North and a nice autumn for those who live in the South.
Cordial greetings,
The Editors
